Formally Forsyth & Masters, Reefton Hardware store’s history goes back to when the town was first built following the gold rush of the 1860’s. They were the first NZ retail business to be lit by Reefton’s public supply of electricity, back in August 1888. Today, the store still has many of it’s original features including the large, solid wooden counter, fixtures and floor boards. The current owners, Neville and Kerrie have been busy renovating and redecorating, bringing the hardware into the present day with a bright, open store, new products, a timber supply yard and their latest project has been renovating and restocking the much loved garden centre, where their customers can buy tools, garden supplies, seeds, plants and garden art.
At Reefton Hardware you will find a great selection of hardware products, tools, paint, timber, garden supplies, kitchen ware and gifts. You can also get keys cut & gas bottle refills and if you need to borrow the trailer or get your bigger items delivered around town, that’s not a problem. Neville has an extensive knowledge of timber supplies and hardware products, if you are after advice or a specialised product, call in and have a chat. Kerrie is the friendly face you will find behind the counter, providing great customer service to all the locals and visitors who visit the store. Call into Reefton Hardware seven days a week and enjoy visiting this iconic business in the middle of Broadway.
